The Where's Welby? campaign began in the summer of 2022, when our Where's Welby? poster was cycled around both Canterbury and London during the Lambeth Conference. While great fun, we were largely ignored!
Unperturbed by this, in September 2022, we lashed our Where's Welby? poster to a wooden frame and took it on the March for Life. We joked that it was the first time an Archbishop had ever attended the March (some people, even to this day, believe he did). We handed out masses of postcards which were then sent to Lambeth Palace.
The reply we received from Lambeth was of such poor quality (one could even say “a fudge”), we were inspired to produce our Lambeth Fudge.
After a slight hiatus, the campaign was revived in May 2023, and relaunched with an interview on GB News. The following day, we travelled to York for the Church’s summer Synod, where some Bishops allegedly banned us from worshipping in York Minster.
We held our official launch event in September, bringing together a group of faithful supporters that has continued to grow ever since.
In November 2023 we protested the Church of England‘s emergency November Synod, where they were discussing homosexuality. This is an issue settled in scripture; the slaughter of children in the womb, criminalisation of public prayer, sexualisation of children in schools, apostate Clergy, and persecution of Anglicans abroad are far graver issues that should be at the forefront of the discussion. This time, we were seen and heard, much to annoyance of the aforementioned apostate Clergy, who tried to have us removed at every possibility.
Where will the campaign take us next?
Lambeth Fudge, along with T-shirts, mugs, and our latest poster are available in our shop. Purchasing our products enables us to spread the word and fund more creative campaigns.
